Who is TAO Tel-Aide? TAO Tel-Aide is a non-profit organization that has been offering an empathetic listening line service since 1974 in the Eastern Ontario region of the Outaouais, as well as in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. The line is staffed by volunteers who receive specialized training and are supported by a professional team. Today, more than 70 volunteers offer attentive, warm, and empathetic listening in French to everyone, regardless of age, religion, sexual orientation, or mental health. All of this is done without judgment, anonymously, and confidentially.
What is TAO Tel-Aide’s mission and values? TAO Tel-Aide offers a listening and referral service in French, 24/7, free, anonymous, confidential, empathetic and non-judgmental, to contribute to the mental well-being of adult Francophones, particularly immigrants and newcomers.
