Mental health conditions — including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress — are common. Stigma and lack of understanding make it harder to seek help.
One in three Canadians will face a mental-health-related problem at some point in their lives. When the problem is detected and treated early enough, the consequences can be less serious.
We are therefore all touched, directly or indirectly, by the effects of mental illness. It is estimated that 20% of people in our community will suffer from a mental illness at some point. But few people are well informed and equipped on the subject.
Someone close to you — a family member, collaborator, colleague, neighbour, friend — is likely suffering from a mental health problem. If you don’t know what to do or how to help, contact us at 780 466-9816 or info@rsa-ab.ca
